More About LENA

Eileen distinctly remembers playing her great-grandparents' piano at the age of 4 and thinking it was the very coolest thing ever! It also became her upright grand for years to come. Eileen started piano at age 5, after her Kindergarten music teacher discovered she could read, read music, be on pitch, and harmonize at 5. Various singing groups and percussion followed close behind through college, almost majoring in music, but chose the architecture path. She has competed in international classical piano competitions, starred in community musical theatre, and played tympani with a symphonic band around Europe. She’s also composed and recorded contemporary piano pieces, sang with the New England Conservatory of Music alumni 16 voice group, and led many community drum circles.

Years ago, Eileen played keys and sang with a New Wave band in Chicago and, more recently, after declaring at a Music at Meyer's Ranch that she wanted to be doing what that lead singer was doing up on stage, found herself performing on that very stage with local band 62West (Rule 62) within a few weeks. She spent a couple of years with 62 West, an Evergreen area rock, pop, & blues band. She started an all-female acoustic trio, Mstique, but wanted more! She switched to NSF, where Eileen’s strong lead and harmony vocals brought a new dynamic to NSF, as did her talented fingers with the virtuoso piano, organ, strings, or fun synth sounds she added to the mix.

Tired of gigs until 1 am and getting home at 3 am, Eileen took a break from NSF and did a lot of Open Mics & jams, especially as her girlfriends wanted a break from Mstique....and was invited to join a group jamming in Lakewood. Eventually, they emerged as Silver Lining and they spent about 4 years on and off, pre-, during and post Covid playing gigs in the mountains and having fun doing an eclectic mix of classic 60's & 70's and bluesy rock.

Lena, as the band started calling her, ever exploring, completed more songwriting, producing, and playing solo, duos, and trios and discovered a more personal niche with which she fell in love. Blue-eyed jazzy soul, perhaps?

Lena (Eileen) loves the magic of live performance, bringing music to life and moving people – in more ways than one! She is available for solo gigs in a more intimate setting and can include more friends as the venue supports.

Eileen is a licensed architect with a small practice with her husband, also an architect. She is the mother of three and has taught piano, meditation, dream interpretation, hot yoga, energy healing, spoon-bending & cloud-bursting, along with other interesting things and is the author of the book, Vaporizing Clouds
